Dear Parents:

 

Now that the school year is fully underway, we would like to take a moment to express heart-felt thanks to all the parents and relatives who have signed up to volunteer their time and talents for one or more of the fun-filled HSA events and fundraisers planned for this school year.   

 

For anyone who may have missed the HSA Committee sign-up table at “Back to School Night”, please know there are still many opportunities to volunteer through the Christmas Season and into 2007.   Remember the gift of time can be the most powerful and lasting when it comes to creating wonderful school memories for your children.

 

Following is a list of the ongoing and upcoming events/fundraisers happening through Christmas.  If you would like to volunteer, we could use YOUR help!     

 

Cafeteria Aides:

Ongoing M-F 9a-12:30p

Many hands are needed to assist the dedicated cafeteria staff in providing one of the best hot lunch programs in the area.  Responsibilities include: preparation of hot/cold lunch, serving the children, staffing the snack bar and assisting with clean-up.

 

Visiting Reader:

Ongoing

Rotating visiting readers are invited to come in and read a book to our Nursery through 2^nd grade classes.  The children love to see their parents, grandparents, friends and relatives.  In just a half-hour, think of the lasting impression you will make!  Books can be selected by the reader, teacher or check out our library for ideas!  

 

 

Book Sale: 

Sat. 11/18 Set-up; M-T-W 11/20-11/22   8a-1p

Volunteers are needed to help set-up tables and displays on Saturday.  M-T-W volunteers are needed to assist Mrs. Singer helping students with book selections and making purchases.  

 

Christmas Wreath Sale: 

Early December TBA -evening

St. Michael’s wreaths are the best in town! Committee members make bows and decorations for the wreaths and help in organizing the distribution.

 

Giving Tree:

Mid-November TBA –evening

Children choose a gift tag from the tree in the main lobby that names a child in Cranford who is in need. Gifts are then donated for these children and distributed through Cranford Family Care.  Committee members obtain list of recipients/ages, fill out gift tags, and oversee gift collection and delivery of donations. 

 

Secret Santa Workshop:

December 5-6, T-W 8am-2pm   

Children can shop for the perfect gifts for family and friends! Chairpersons order/shop for merchandise, set-up shop, and oversee the two days of sale held in the cafeteria.  Committee members work the booths and ticket table, decorate, set and clean-up.

 

Breakfast with Santa:

Saturday, December 9 - AM (set-up to take place Friday-PM)

The children love eating breakfast with their family, friends and the Man in Red! Committee members coordinate Santa’s visit, photographer, ticket sales, and staffing for breakfast and clean-up.

 

Once again, much appreciation goes out to everyone that has already signed up.  Your committee chairperson will be in touch soon with details.
