From How Stars are Born and Mountains are Made to What Makes an Igneous Rock Different from a Sedimentary Rock, the intrigue and mystery of science will abound Thursday, January 25th at 7PM at the SMS Science Fair.
Over the last several weeks students from preschool through eighth grade have participated in a variety of classroom hands-on science experiments in preparation for the fair. According to Mrs. McGauran, SMS’s sixth through eighth grade science teacher, a good science education teaches critical thinking skills – the kind of skills that come in handy when figuring out a problem regardless of whether it’s in the workforce or seeing through motives of a TV commercial.
Our Science Fair is also an opportunity to expose and excite our children to the wonders of science that await them as they progress through the science curriculum at SMS.
Weathers forecasters are predicting a cold night, so don’t forget your hat and gloves and join us for our Science Fair on Thursday, January 25th at 7PM in the cafeteria.
