September 27, 2006
Dear Parents,
I was pleased to see so many of you at Back to School Night. I understand that due to the Feast, parking was a hardship but your interest in your children and our school community made it all worthwhile. The Feast of Saint Michael is a wonderful venue that draws our school and parish community closer. I look forward to another great feast and hope to see you there.
As most of you are aware, Saint Michael’s School is due for reaccreditation by the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools. The team visit has been rescheduled to November 28 through December 1. Our faculty, under the direction of our steering committee and chaired by Miss Margaret Augustine and Mrs. Ann Oro, is looking forward to the visit. The self study, which we worked on during the 2005-2006 academic year, is ready to be presented and the commendations and recommendations we will receive can only enhance our children’s education.
Our Library is ever-expanding! Many thanks to the Wlodarski family, who has donated a selection of books and videos relating to our faith. They will be available to students and teachers and parents may also borrow them for their families’ pleasure. A list of these new additions will soon be posted on our website.
October is the month when we celebrate the Rosary and our 2nd graders will receive Reconciliation for the first time. During this month we turn back the clocks and await Halloween. Many of our students and even teachers eagerly await this holiday. On October 31st all students may dress in costume and we will have our annual parade at 10:00A.M. Please note that the students’ winter uniform must be donned as of November 1st.
Sincerely yours,
Sandy Miragliotta
Principal
