Subject:
FIRST LEGO League

May 3, 2006

Dear Parents,

St. Michael’s School is interested in forming a FIRST LEGO League team(s).

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and The Lego Group partnered to create FIRST LEGO League (FLL) which challenges kids to think like scientist and engineers. Alongside adult mentors, FLL teams solve problems using engineering concepts, presentation techniques and robots.

This program would enhance science and math curriculums while giving children an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge.

This is an after school activity coached by a parents with support from mentors. In addition to determining student interest, we also need coaches and mentors.

If you are considering joining the team or are looking for something fun to do with your family, I encourage you to attend a robotics competition. On May 20th at Montgomery Township High School in Skillman, NJ, you will be able to witness a robotics competition and, maybe, catch the fever.

If you or your child is interested in participating, you can reach me at Noesner@MSN.com.

For more information, please read this overview of the program or go to www.usfirst.org or www.firstlegoleague.org.

Thank you.

Kara Noesner
