Stewardship at St. Michael's CONTACT: Cathy Sheridan PHONE: 908-276-0360 Stewardship Commitment for Adults >> Stewardship Commitment for Youths >> We are called to be a community bonded together by the Father's love and centered on Jesus. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit and called to be witnesses of our faith, expressed in worship, teaching and service to others in the local and world community." - St. Michael's Parish Mission Statement What is Stewardship Once one chooses to become a disciple of Jesus Christ, stewardship is "not an option". Sharing the Time, Talents and Treasure that God has given each of us is our responsibility as baptized Catholics.
The U. S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' pastoral letter serves as a gospel blueprint with which to develop and expand this concept to build the kingdom of God.
The authentic disciple regards all he or she possesses as gifts and blessings and realizes the need to share those gifts and blessings with others for the sake of the kingdom.
Stewardship then is all-encompassing. It provides a place for the simplest gesture of kindness as well as stewardship communities working for systemic justice and peace.
A Letter from the Archbishop
My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
To become one family with God, we will need to continue to embrace the Stewardship Way of Life. Stewardship is a powerful vehicle for conversion. Stewardship as a way of life can transform individuals, parish communities and the entire diocese. I am encouraged with our progress so far and I look forward to our continued success as our Lord Jesus Christ continues to bestow His many blessings on us.
Sincerely in the Lord,
Most Reverend John J. Myers
